Case 3

Introduction

Harry is a 62-year-old married, Polish man who has been a heavy smoker for 40 years. He presents with hemoptysis.

A chest X-ray shows an apical opacity in his right lung. A CT guided biopsy indicates that Harry has adenocarcinoma of the lung (stage III B) which is deemed not surgically resectable. Harry is treated with a course of palliative radiotherapy.
