Introduction

Gloria is a 37 year old single lady who presents to you for the first time soon after finding out that she has widespread metastatic carcinoma of the ovary. She has recently moved interstate to live with her mother.

You are a male doctor who was recommended to Gloria by one of your other patients who shares the same religion as Gloria and her mother.

Gloria presents with a one week history of nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain and general malaise. She has not had a bowel action for one week and has had increasing abdominal distension over the last three months.
